Speaking Eloquently
“Speaking Eloquently”
She was enticing,
Mesmerizing and gracious.
He was verbose,
And so very loquacious.
.
Each was the ultimate,
Master of conversations.
They knew all there was to know,
From Genesis to Revelations.
.
They did some numbers on Kings,
From Judges to Jude.
They could Mark some Acts,
Without being rude.
.
Always copious,
Often hilarious,
Cogent, fluent, eloquent.
And always garrulous.
.
She was poignantly glib.
He was emphatic.
She was brilliantly colorful,
And demonstrably dramatic.
.
And so the creature,
Can take any form,
And distort what once,
Was considered the norm.
.
Fascinating to hypnotizing,
The audience will immerse.
It quotes every scripture,
Every word in every verse.
.
The silver tongued devil,
May make a perfect mistake,
To better disguise,
This treacherous snake.
.
And today, in its absence,
I can hear its words of choice,
And the beguiling timbre,
Of its persuasive voice.
.
Pour my truth,
A little paler,
Leave your elegance,
To the tailor.
.
It’s the most pertinent,
Reason why,
All the truths in this world,
Add up to one big lie.
.
Science proves old beliefs,
Are easy to shake.
But even the Garden of Eden,
Had a silver-tongued snake.
.
It’s “good old” and “new age”,
And really quite an attraction.
The serpent quotes perfect scripture,
To its own satisfaction.
