Spitfire by Michael valdez

Updated on July 12, 2017

iron predation,
my roundels leading the eye astray,
taunting you with two fingers,
hit me if you can!
intercept in an air ballet,
your cannons try to blast,
as I dip and weave,
but cautious not to dive too steep,
for I'll cough and splutter from lack of air,
although my talons arent quite as sharp,
my will surpasses yours,
as you try so hard to catch me in a slip,
your energy is depleted,
and I send you packing home,
with me on your tail,
for even if it is a stalemate,
it's a win in my eyes.
