Split Personalities Joined By Eternal Love.

If love is a

temporary madness

let me be

totally insane,

locked in a

strait jacket for two

in a rubber room

where we can frolic,

give us both a couple

of shots of damnitol

every four hours

and then we'll dance

in mindless splendour.

They say marriage

is an institution

perhaps it's a mental one.

Two souls bound by laws

commited to the absurdities

of each other,

which only reveal themslves

long after the vows....

and only a judge can

release them

from caring for each other.

But most marriages

hold two who are

not patients but

more of a form

of patience.

They start out crazy

about each other,

till eventually that is cured

and reduced to a mild

form of tolerance.

But by then they

have grown comfortable

with thier treatment

of each other and tend

to ignore their failings.

Most die married

as just friends.

Love is an affliction

and I long to be sick

and tired of another

warm body next to me

in my King sized bed,

because  anything

less is loneliness

which is the worst

madness of all.

Loved it, Loved it, Loved it! The mental institution of marriage where "two souls are commited to the absurdity of each other" is a BRILLIANT definition. Could loneliness be any worse?

Amen Brother MFB! Amen. I'm sitting in the choir. But there are empty seats all around me. I love to love. I want to love another. I also never want to be a disappointment to another person. So- I "Sit Here In My Lonely Room"! I could never write this as beautifully - but I've written something familiar. Is there hope for us in love? Man- with your contributions there should be hope for you. For me? I'm a "hasbeen-neverwas". I'm at the depot waiting for the next train out. I have no idea how to live away from the depot.
