Spring Reflections-Poem
Spring has Sprung
Spring's Entrance
Warm breezes wrap me like a baby in a blanket
filling all my senses with nature's sweet smell
Once dull and dreary becomes beautiful and bright
as nature's whisper becomes a mighty yell
Flowers wake from long slumbers
opening their petals to the sky
Birds journey back to their summer homes
dancing, chirping, long into nigh
The swamp makes a grand entrance
offering sights and sounds galore
the magical voice of the croaking frog,
entrances; making me long for more
I hear a sad song, bittersweet to my ear
the bird speaks a haunting shrill
Is it love song or eulogy, I do not know
I surmise it's the pleading of the whippoorwill
Buds pop up like Jack in the box
and like a little girl, I watch in awe
As nature springs back to life
and winters cold grip begins to thaw
Definition of Poem Versus Prose
The difference between prose and poetry according to readwritethink.org:
Prose- Most everyday writing is in prose form. The language of prose is typically straightforward without much decoration. Ideas are contained in sentences that are arranged into paragraphs. There are no line breaks. Sentences run to the right margin. The first word of each sentence is capitalized. Prose looks like large blocks of words. Poetry is typically reserved for expressing something special in an artistic way. The language of poetry tends to be more expressive or decorated, with comparisons, rhyme, and rhythm contributing to a different sound and feel. Ideas are contained in lines that may or may not be sentences. Lines are arranged in stanzas. Poetry uses line breaks for various reasons—to follow a formatted rhythm or to emphasize an idea. Lines can run extremely long or be as short as one word or letter. Traditionally, the first letter of every line is capitalized, but many modern poets choose not to follow this rule strictly. The shape of poetry can vary depending on line length and the intent of the poet.

What is it with everyone's writings being covered with ads? Did you try any of that, did it help? Hope you didn't get talked out of it especially the menthol drops to open you up and has a lasting affect, eventually.
Beautiful. Spring is like nature coming back to life. Your poem was lovely.
A great way to usher in the season. Had me hooked from the playful and poignant first line...
Spring time is simply wonderful and nature begins to come alive after the cold Winter months. One always feels so much better in Spring time, just as your lovely poem brought a smile to my face.
Minnetonka Twin, I voted up and awesome, and more winter because our winters are so mild and summers so hot, great hub, spring is a new beginning of life though so more spring is best,
thanks for a great hub, 50
at this stage in the year I don't think anyone wants more winter...but half the fun is seeing the world wake up to spring and all the new that becomes evident! God is so good to give us this guft every year!!! Blessings it was fun to read. Ulrike Grace
Spring the time of life and love and freshness, what makes this season so special is the dearth of color and warmth that comes before it. When winter has been hanging around too long the heart yearns for spring like never before ..well written. Thanks for sharing!
Spring time is one of my favourite seasons. Everything comes to life after a sleepy Winter. Spring flowers have to be my absolute favourites. Great poem Minnetonka Twin.
Simply beautiful.
....well you are certainly a breath of fresh poetic air to me - my friend - and this is such a delight to read - it just made me feel so good - just like having you as a friend here at the Hub - and a colleague/peer whom I admire very much - and it doesn't get any better than that. Please look out for a 'surprise' card.
Spring is such a wonderful time of the year...how everything seems to awake and blossom after the long winter...It seems like a miracle. Thanks for sharing.
I can't wait. I come alive in Spring.
Lovely poem about this wonderful season that everyone seems to want to see already this year, more than any other year! Fortunately for some of us we are in the heart of it already, and is looking more and more like summer here in Florida. I hope that this season arrives for EVERYONE soon!
Everyone is feeling sprite and springy and it's fun to read awakening poems like this one...it does make us feel younger
We've had Spring here in south east England for at least a couple of weeks. There are masses of daffodils beside the roads and in the open ground, and on Common land. And there are a couple of blue tits outside my kitchen window trying to decide whether to nest in the mahonia, or find a box somewhere.
Hi Minnetonka Twin, great poem, but where is spring it is not here yet, or will we just go into summer without seeing our beautiful spring ??? I hope it's gets warmer here soon !
What a beautiful poem. Spring brings a sense of hope, doesn't it? I live in the south, so we kind of jump from spring to summer very fast, but we try to enjoy the few spring days we have! Stay well.
Beautiful. After this last winter, I'm loving the spring and the new life it brings.
Up and beautiful.

I am SO ready for Springthis year. It is almost here in North Carolina. My computer desk looks out at a glorious dogwood tree in full bloom.
This is a lovely poem and I really enjoyed it.
I love spring and the warmth and beauty of the next new season. Awesome writing!
Very nice Ms. Minne'...
I love that notion - warm breeze wrapped youth potion
Where winter's wrath's now gone and Spring smells now throng
And finally, all bright greens come home
A dream to come true for all that we view
As ten thousand sweet flowers sing to me
A land oh so live as creatures now writhe
And song birds they sweet sing to amuse me
Now I must now confess even sweeter than thus
Is a flower wrapped little girl known as Minnetonka ;)
I love fall but spring is, indeed the start of new beginnings. Going out in the yard and seeing a green plant pushing through the earth is a treasure found! Lovely poem full off hope and wonder!
There's no season as exhilarating as spring. It’s the beginning of all things.
Hello Minnetonka:
I can't wait for summer. The weather should be warmer at this time of year but because of floods and earthquakes it's quite frigid.
I enjoyed actually seeing everything in my mind as I read it. Thank you.
