Stale and loving it

Updated on March 9, 2013

Don't give me love

I cannot handle it

Tired of the difficulty

Tired of the shit !

I cannot handle any more emotional pain

That is not necessary nor for my gain

Stale and loving it, for the moment at least

Yes give me a little rest, a little peace!

Don't give me love, give me friendhip and FUN!

Give me lifesavers, chocolate, vacation and rum!

I want dancing, karokee bars and the limbo too

Want to drink and be merry, not say I do!

Want to flirt with whomever and not follow thru!

Want to smile and grin and watch the opening win

Of golf, tennis, or swimming or take a walk to the gym

Finding myself and returning to the land of the living

Oh my gosh what I've been missing

Hop scotch, jump rope, these were the games

Before life got so complicated

It's never been the same

Dana! It's awesome to see you here on my hub, I respect your writing very much; and also I know this must be a good hub/poem if you stopped by! ha

makes you want to be single? wow, I guess I did a good job, you know there's +'s to everything rite?

your relationship sounds really good and easygoing and no pressure that's cool. keeping it exciting is cool too and doing romantic things occaassionally I would imagine? light and fun sounds good- holidays are over rated when you get older! unless you have kids but I love fireworks and new years eve , etc, it's good to be friends, that's the best, and enjoy life together, sounds like you have a keeper! Do I hear wedding bells? !

      Wayne, thankyou for your reinforcement!

good to see you I owe u all a visit, and I read Debbie's hub on you recently, was very nice. so glad you guys met and glad to know another nice hubber here, thankyou for being here,!

always a pleasure....I like how you put it that it's work and that few take little work but all in all we all know pain and pleasure go together or something like that.

thank you for being so sweet with your compliments!

yes, "finding myself and returning to the land of the living" exactly. so important to get 'yourself' back.

      HI Leslie,

I can feel the energy as i reread this and so happy it was well received! I really don't always know what's good or not until later when i reread it and see how it feels, you know when teachers in college writing classes used to say- write it, leave it for 3-5 days, reread it?

Mike- so great to have you on my page and honor me with one of your many thoughtful comments. sorry didn't reply sooner to all, was just sort of overwhelmed but in a good way!

Very happy you liked it and enjoyed it, thanks a bunch!

      Hi Gypsy,

It's really weird because I find being single very challenging. It's not so much about any one thing in particular that I can think of, I don't really know what it is. I feel weird being single. I don't know why. Thanks :)

We should all have the freedom to be who we are whether attached or not. Great poem.

THIS IS AWESOME! the words you chose are great. i can really feel your frustration. the way you say it keeps it light but still gets the point across. i almost makes me want to be single!

I can totally relate. I ahve met to many people that start out as friends, then they drop the I love you and you are so amazing bomb, and then drop me like a bad habit. It is exhausting.... My boyfriend and I keep everything light and fun. We are friends. We don't make a big deal of gift giving or holidays. We just enjoy life together. Occasionally we will do the typical romantic things. It seems to work for us.

"Finding myself and returning to the land of the living." Love it. I've never been married but I don't think people are supposed to lose who they are when they do.

It s like that when you are with no body but once you get involved in bittersweet ,life takes an other direction and you hold some responsibilities .I think it is hard to find someone who could offer that la la land lol Anyway. This poem is so sweet. I love the descriptions. It is a very well written poem.I voted up.

Lovely poem Schoolgirl, I miss the good ole days too, and the flirting with hot ladies who were willing to go the distance with me.

Now being a married man today, I am content though with having my beautiful wife that I love dearly, and so yup this poem appealed to me for sure for when I was a young buck all hot and heavy LOL, those were the good ole days.

Nice release, sharing and some thumbs up on this one! Sweet.....
