Meet Me on the Battlefield
Raise your weapon high,
Pose for premeditated strike.
Meet my defenses strong;
Barriers built from blood and loss.
So much time is lost to us;
A thousand years evaporated by boiling tempests.
Thieving pride halting reconciliations.
You can cut me now, hurt me deep.
Finish this war we started as the victor.
Or you could chose another way, where I would gladly go...
You could lay down your weapons,
And fill your hands with holding mine.
That armor weighing you down, step out,
Instead, carry me in your arms...
That fierce scowl, baring your teeth like a wicked warrior
Find instead a memory to make you smile, one of ours;
Ripened by long nights and steeped in tender flavors of unity.
Shields down, anger's thirst filled by kisses from my lips.
Let us leave this battlefield with soilders left unharmed,
Find our slow way back home because we are together again...
