Superwoman a Stay at Home Mom Poem

Updated on November 23, 2016

Stay at Home Mom Tasks

"Look, up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane; no its Superwoman. Yes its Superwoman, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound."

In the mornings she wakes up helping her children get ready for school. She drives her children to school, sometimes stopping to put fuel in her vehicle. Then she drops the children off at school, leaving them with a positive and uplifting comment; "have a nice day beautiful."

Now Mom might have a little time to herself, such as painting her fingernail nails and toenails. But first Mom may want to soak her feet in a warm foot bath, and adding bubbles to give the foot bucket some therapeutic fragrance. Ahhhh. . . . that was relaxing, now Mom may want to do at least a 5-30 minutes exercise.

Mom puts on one of her favorite songs, she starts dancing and exercising to her music for 5-30 minutes. We all know that Mothers have to take care of themselves first, and then they will have mental and physical ability to help take care of others.

Mom makes herself breakfast and the children's after-school lunch at the same time. Now Mom may want to watch her favorite show on television, and during each TV commercial Mom is washing clothes, drying clothes, vacuuming and mopping the floors of her home.

O' wait, Superwoman still has to keep her cape on because the day is not done. The alarm on her cellular phone is beeping; it's time to pick one of her children up from school. Mom takes off to pick up her child, and she also stops to buy a few things from the grocery store. Then her child mentions that their teacher wants the class to buy some more school supplies. Now Mom has left the grocery store and is now going to a discount store to pick up the needed school supplies.

Mom of Many Hats

Mothers play the actual roles of being the; taxi, cook, hair stylist, counselor, advisor, nurturer, disciplinary, etc. Let's get back to finishing our day. . . .

All these tasks that the Mom is doing each day is normal, whatever Mom doesn't finish today she will eventually do tomorrow.

Now Mom gets home to settle her children in to study their homework and to eat their lunch. But first the children are reminded to wash their hands before going into the kitchen area. And 6 hours later Mom is just getting started to wind down her busy day, she begins to cook dinner for her family.

Finally, She and her family are now getting ready for bed, but "first everyone has to take a warm shower and brush their teeth" (Mom says).

And people may wonder if Mom takes off her Superwoman cape before bedtime. . . . But no, she keeps the cape on at all times. Some people may not be able to see her cape, but it's there. Other stay at home mothers may see her cape because they understand.

Superwoman will still not envy the mother's that go out to work for their home, because she works inside the home and she is building many great memories with her children.

The stay at home Moms Superwoman cape is like an Angel with wings; it's necessary, she's on a daily mission to keep herself maintained, her children, her home, her car, her husband/spouse, etc.

Stay at Home Mom Worth

Superwoman has a great worth that is not paid with silver or gold. Her worth is paid in unseen treasures; our God in Heaven is the supplier of the unseen treasure for a mortal and supernatural S-u-p-e-r-w-o-m-a-n.

There are extra tasks that some stay at home Moms do as well, like cleaning the carpet in her home, and taking out the trash if the Dad of the home is at work. While the male of the home may be bringing in the primary funds for the home, the Mom is taking care of everything else.

More extra things that Superwoman does:

  • Pay the bills of the home
  • Parent and teacher conference at school
  • Doing the child's hair (especially if they are African American)
  • Calling back phone numbers in her voice mail
  • Having a hobby
  • Making extra income for the home
  • Help children with homework
  • Bible study
  • Clean every room in the home
  • Child's Doctors' appointments
  • Child's Dentist appointments
  • and more

How does Superwoman do it? Well it is not easy. She still has to make time for other things, events, and dates. But she gets the job done, in rain, sun, and snow. Superwoman sings along to music throughout her day to keep her sanity, and she does a little dance from time to time.

Stay at home Moms have to accept the good with the bad, and make dates for leisure time to enjoy her family.

"Look, up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane; no its Superwoman." All Superwomen have a cape that is designed their own way. Some may have bedazzled capes, zebra print capes, or even glitter pink capes. Just know that the work you do is not unnoticed, your children will appreciate it when they are much older.

A stay at home Mom's worth is more than money can buy, because love is the main ingredient. And some people know that you can't really buy love.

In all that you do each day operate in love, and maintain the "fruits of the Spirit" as a stay at home Mom.

Verse of Scripture

The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands. (Proverbs 14:1)

Your article is a tribute to all the 'Stay-at-home-mothers'. Excellent! And interestingly the timetable for the day, of a SAHM, is more or less the same all over the world. Thanks for sharing.

The words "All Superwomen have a cape that is designed their own way." make me think of those generational quilts that get sewn one patch at a time. Cool poem.
