Still Only Six But never Still.

Updated on January 10, 2010

Still Only Six...But Never Still.

Just a split

second of time,

joyfully delighting

in the rain-

Full of youthful

exuberance, in

one precious chapter

of perfection
Written in flesh,

indexed between

infancy and adulthood.

Nothing to worry about

but catching the next

raindrop on your hungry tongue,
what you're gonna play next,

and the tantalizing taboo

of just getting wet.

The next time this

image will appear

to you outside of now
will be years later

when you are 88,

and your mind wanders back,
to that spring day

when all the world

lay before you

to explore.

Cherish this moment;

they pass far too soon,

and become encumbered

with umbrellas, fragile hairstyles

and endless schedules to meet.

Dance on bare feet,

across Mother Nature's

downy green carpet,
and let your life

be an embrace.
