Store Bought Version

Updated on August 11, 2017

I want the girl who is all natural

You can keep your walking plastic

I want the girl with an original world

Not the one spoiled in your static

A smile that pictures are worth taking

Not the smiles that are painted on

The smile that is already in the making

Not the smile that is two shades of wrong

Keep your girl who is a store bought versions

I’ll keep the girl with the deep conversations

You can keep the face that can show no emotion

I’ll keep the girl who has complete control

Keep the face that has no working motion

I’ll take the girl whose face will someday turn old

Take the girl who wants to look like the cover of a magazine

I’ll have the girl who reads the sports page

You can have the girl who is “as seen on T.V.”

The girl I want is the one who is not on the main stage

Keep your girl who is a store bought version

I’ll keep the girl with the conversation

It is so admirable to hear a fellow of your age seeking a beautiful, natural woman. In the famous words of the great "Sir Mix Alot", silicone parts are made for toys. :) This is beautiful!

      I liked it Fullerman5000,

The cool part, from my perspective, is there is an expression of an ideal. The writer knows what he's looking for and also what he's not looking for. I'd say he already has someone in mind!

      Thank You!

Beauty that is only skin deep will fade rather quickly, beauty that comes from inside, will last a lifetime. I loved this. Shared and posted to my Facebook wall. Voted up, useful, awesome, beautiful and interesting.

This is great! Voted up and stuff its nice to know there are still people who realize physical beauty isnt all there is and while it may seem important to only focus on physical attributes to people if there is nothing but a blank slate to back it up than thats not that beautiful now is it??

Beautiful! I admire you for preferring the original, natural girl. Your last two lines are the winner.

Love this--especially the lines: Keep your girl who is a store bought version, I'll keep the girl with the conversation. Well done.

Just depends on where you're looking! This was a great read. I do smile at the thought you are looking for someone who is real.
