Strong Hand

Updated on April 29, 2014

You are my sanctuary, most holy God.

In you, I am safe.

No other place gives me respite from the hurts of this world.

You are the One who looks after me and

Loves me every sweet hour,

Even this hour of fervent prayer.

I want to ask

May this hour of struggle pass quickly.

But, I ask that you

Remind me of your glory and

The purpose for which I was made.

Turn these rocks to praise.

I belong to you.

My life belongs to you.

To you alone am I indebted.

You make me lie down safely.

With you, there shall be no fear.

I shall know you are Lord.

Every day you make known to me your majesty.

You give ear to my voice when I call.

I call often.

Guard me with your strong hand.

My heart is weak.

Ms.Dora, Dana, and Blossom, Thank you all for reading my work and for the kind words. Your comments are a gift to me. Isn't it wonderful we can ask for peace from the Peacemaker any time?

We do call often, but isn't it wonderful that we can? Another beautiful prayer within a poem.

In these hard times I also long for the safety of our Lord. I can relate to the longing for the peace only He can provide in the midst of the storm. This was a beautiful piece and thank you so much for sharing.

What a beautiful prayer psalm. I can relate to the desire for sanctuary in God. Thank you!
