Stuck in Yellow
My world is angry and blue
and yellow all around.
The yellow ceiling looms above,
doing its best to tie me down,
tie me to a life of yellow.
The walls surround me.
They threaten to give me shelter,
to hold me prisoner forever.
A dozen pictures rest on these walls,
frames caked in thick yellow paint.
Like me, they are stuck in yellow.
A translucent haze covers the glass.
An image of you, I can see it
through the yellow haze.
No matter how hard I try,
The frames can't be broken from the wall.
Your image is forever stuck in yellow.
The glass can't be cleaned.
You will forever see me
stuck in a haze of yellow.
