Stuck on Midnight: A Poem

Updated on June 6, 2012

Stuck on Midnight

Hearts take the lead

Increase my speed

Into a frenzy

Love conquers all things

Anvils fall from the sky

As you fall for me

I’ve never seen

So many smiles

Beyond a movie screen

My favorite scene

Hero and heroine

Lean for a kiss

Roll the credits

..

She keeps me full

Food for my soul

She gives me wings

No energy drinks

She is my queen

One of kind

She will be mine

Before I die

Reanimate

Back to life

On my two feet

I stand upright

If I shrink to half my size

She makes me complete

...

Bitter sweet memory

Of the journey

All worth while

Divide and conquer

I’ll never compromise

It’s not in my genes

She plays the harp

That pacifies the giant

In my heart to sleep

I step on her feet

A few times

Before I find the beat

Our eyes synchronize

As the clock strikes

Stuck on midnight

Hi Innuentendre! Beautiful poem as a whole. I read it three times! I love the ending part too and I keep scrolling back up to the picture of the clock. I think that there is some power from that clock...

      "Our eyes synchronize

      Stuck on midnight"

It looks like an EYE. Hypnotizing! Voted Beautiful!
