"Successful at 34" by Eric Wayne Flynn

"Successful at 34"

Wise to my own ways

Self policing my governing body

Administering food and drugs as i see fit

Full of thanks for every bite, puff or swig

I go to church every SUN day

Deservant of love

Receptive to love

Blessed with love

I look for a mirror

Scarred by vanity

Wondering if i capable

Tired of stumbling in the dark

Someone will light the way

Reassured of love

Old green candidates challenge love

Place value on love

Abusers of love

Married together to cut costs

Jealous union

Com-modifying kisses

Lonely loss of self

Bitter from sacrifice

Lashing out at the world

Love handles... growth from miserable company

Prisoners to a concept

Green with envy

We covet the shine

Validating our bad habit

In bed with the boogeyman

Sadomasochist souls

We accumulate objects to harm us

"Stop objectifying love!"

He whispers walking by a river

Ready to jump...

...and swim to the bottom

Opening a beating red door

Chastised by locks and chains

A naked, penniless soul waiting for you

Very deep and meaningful poem Eric. I love your artistry of words, you're like a sculptor....well done.

I'm glad you can relate Jodah... The idea of success is just like beauty, it's in the eye of the beholder. I do sculpt as I write, or chip away I guess.

Thanks for reading , you motivate me.
