Summer Snow

Updated on November 18, 2011

I wish it could have been different
That we could of known for certain
That love had come like summer snow

Now the ice storms have come
Driving the flowers from the sun
And the cold north winds blow

The moons runs into the night
Slipping away at first light
A long long voyage home

Something beckons beyond
A distant shore near the dawn
Where for a minute the moon is not alone

Where the light and darkness kiss
A place that love can exist
On the edge of the ice field she roams

Now I know for certain
Past winter's curtain
Love waits like a summer snow

Beautiful. I love the imagery that is conjured up with the words. Very poetic.
