Summer’s Fog (poem)

Updated on May 19, 2015

Sweet summer’s fog come hide this lover’s tear

And shroud the clarity which forms my pain

Caress my thoughts with one more warm refrain

Some drift some sense that hope will reappear

I never knew how much you cared for me

So many ways yours magic filled my days

I took for granted countless dreams you raise

So foolish was the one who couldn’t see

She left me with sun up in the sky

A light so clear that doubt was flushed aside

No corner left for shadow’s child to hide

So lucid was the mirror showing why

Sweet summer’s fog unfold your wondrous dance

To soften heart for one more precious chance

This is awesome, Martin. When we take things, people, and emotions for granted that's when our souls begin to die.

"Sweet summer's fog." At least, there's the expectation that something precious will unfold when it clears. Beautiful poetry!
