Sunny Shades of Gray

Updated on August 11, 2017

Depressing clouds of gray

Release its rain

To wash away this day

The dirt upon the concrete

Turns muddy and slick

Making my walk discrete

I wonder where the beauty lies

On a rainy day

Beyond the top of the sky

And will tomorrow bring back the sun?

To take away

All that has been undone

The rain, my weary soul it soothes

While others complain

About the wet, soaked shoes

Translucent drops of liquid fall

Touching my face

Then beginning to drench my all

I enjoy the rain as it pours

Soaking the surface of the earth

Thirsty, growing plants beg for more

Rain Rain don’t ever go away

You comfort me

Please decide to stay

i like this, Ryan. I liked the part about it being translucent. I love the rain, so, it's probably a good thing I live in the Pacific Northwest

This is an excellent poem. I will now wonder where the beauty goes on a rainy day.. just eloquent and beautiful!
