My First Attempt At Writing Poetry ~ I Couldn't Find A Better Topic For My First Poem Than A Gorgeous Desert Sunset

S pectacular colors and

U nderestimated beauty

N ever the same

S cene twice ~

E thereal ribbons seemingly

T raveling along the wings of angels

I nteresting shades of orange, purple and pink

N early reaching to heaven

T ransforming splendid

H ues eternally, optimistically

E verlastingly hopeful

D elivering a promise through

E nchanting darkness and

S ilvery shining stars

E nveloped in a blanket of sweet tranquility

R eturning brightly crimson, a sunrise...

T ouching our hearts with the everlasting promise of a brand new beginning ~
A brand new day~

Nevada Sunsets Can Be Stunning

Sunsets here in Nevada, especially near the mountains, are absolutely breathtaking at times. We've been here for several years now and we are always amazed at the golden, orange, pink and purple hues we see here in the Nevada mountain and desert sunsets. They are something to behold. These sunsets were the inspiration behind this, my first attempt at poetry.

Acrostic poems such as these can make for entertaining reads and can challenge your command of the language to come up with the best words. You've succeeded admirably on both counts here. The images painted by your words and the pictures themselves were beautiful!

I like how you started each line with a highlighted letter. Nice poem, very good and well done for a beginner. :)
