"Sweet Dreams" by Eric Wayne Flynn

"Sweet Dreams"

Some lay their heads on pillows and dream of the stars

Some lay their heads on rocks not as soft as ours

Some nestle up in linens and fabrics fit for a king

Some nestle up in straw and what little warmth it brings

Some count sheep and watch the cow jump over the moon

Some sit in a cell and howl and cry chained in a room

Some lay down to rest and cant wait to face the day

Some lay down to rest and can't wait to fade away

Some close their eyes cherishing their golden slumber

Some close their eyes to never wake, another number

I rest my bones, spoiled in a warm bed writing a poem

Many other bones, pile up dead due to lack of comfort of home

So, tomorrow we rise to bicker and fight and swim up stream

Tonight we flick off the lights and whisper "sweet dreams"

I love this one. My favorite of yours thus far. I've thought so many times about this very thing, while I was laying comfortable in my bed.

Spoiled rotten we the average American, yet we are first to complain. Despicable brainless wonders always wanting more n more.

Haha that's being human isn't it? We receive- we want more, but the less we have the more we seem to adapt. Being content is found in the realization of how little we need.
