Departing

with the heart

that drags the water floor like an anchor

I can’t see an encore not even a promise

continuously searching blade by blade for a place to rest my letters

just when I think I can click my heels began spiraling

a spiral into trickery supposing to have a few minutes

wrapping one of the inherent ropes around my wrist for handcuffs

line the words hard in a row commence to slaying by prose

one by one the spectators fall like pins to recover and delight again

the adulation is mutual as I become thrilled starting to depend on the short lived submission

as I do the same not for remorse as I think they are brilliant in composing

but the slow withdrawals threaten and the disappearing act begins to peak

I know the odor of the stages

I sense between the expressions of the play

once again confronted with a decision realizing the foundation

starts to recede... enter the season and it’s time for me to fade

exit my iron clad heart

Poignant! No matter how your readers would like to interpret this exquisite piece, it is for me a resounding longing for something or someone that was once there, like that of feeling temporarily fulfilled only to be consumed by confusion in the end.

      Excellent write!

"...I can't see an encore, or even a promise..."

Splendid span of emotion packed in nine words.
