Sweet Summer Breeze

Updated on June 21, 2011

She’s coming..

Lavender…just a scent.

Perhaps a bit of rose,

Just a hint.

Come in…with the rustle of leaves,

The sway of the trees,

Come in through the screen,

On a Sweet Summer Breeze.

She snuggles.

Her arm wraps around my torso.

Her breath is on my neck.

And I feel alive…but more so.

This Summer Breeze,

Should always be there.

I need to feel this soul,

The weight of her hair.

If I think good thoughts,

Dear Love I miss you.

And on this sweet summer night,

I so want to kiss you.

I can hear the leaves,

I can see the sway of the trees.

You… Sweet Summer Breeze.

Please… do as you please.

Let’s dream on a Summer Breeze,

That love is on winds,.

We’ll awake at the dawn,

To cardinals and wrens.

Spoon me, swoon me,

Do as you please.

But don’t come and go,

Like a summer breeze.

But stay. Please.

As long as you please,

But... a Summer Breeze…

Is a Summer Breeze.

~Micky Dee~

Oh Story- by the way - the pics were "smeared/smudged" from one picture.

Thank you all very much.Cheeky, Eiddwen, epigramman, blaise, Rosemay - thank you all so much.

Story, I didn't have much imagination when I went for that avatar. You know it's two initials really. I actually don't frequent McDonalds often. Almost never. I do want to thank them for clean rest-rooms mostly. But I can't eat much that doesn't propel me forward. If I slow down on the bicycle much - I won't be any good for myself. So, I don't look for a long life. I just want to ride my bicycle really fast while I'm here.

      Thank you dear Story.

NO! It is seriously called Mickey Ds.

I suppose you get that a lot? Never thought of you as a golden arch guy.

.....oh you are such a hopeless romantic my dear Sir Micky of Dee - and you have been a kind and wonderful hub brother to me over the past year and moments that I shall never forget because of your generosity and decency as a human being. If the term 'world class' applies to anyone here at the HUB it must certainly be you - because as a world class humanitarian you just make this world for the rest of us a better place to live.

Sweetness, lightness and movement- a great combination!

I love the song as well... are your sweet summer days speeding past? Mine are! Why, oh why?

(Did you take these photos or tweak them or what? They are very cool as well.)

      I love it all, sigh.

Lovely to read this especially as today was the sunniest day we have had here for a while, warm with just a slight breeze to rustle the leaves. Nice to read this, thank you. Opps, left and had to return as I forgot to give it my votes.

Great poem, Micky. As the Suburban Poet said at the top...we could use a sweet summer breeze down here in Houston...not the blast furnace we currently have with wildfires raging all around. Getting a few raindrops today. Had almost forgotten what that looked like!

Up and beautiful! May your sweet summer breeze return and caress you least in your dreams if not reality. Hoping for the latter. :)

Mickey, I read the first verse and it put that song in my mind only to find the song embedded at the bottom. Great job of evoking that memory!

First this is a summer breeze of a poem... it's what we need down here in Texas... the imagery took me there for a moment... and now I walk outside to the 100+ infernal regions...

I love the original Summer Breeze by Seals & Crofts. I even remember when and where I first heard it... in Laredo driving with Mom... that's weird that I can remember it but the song hit home with me...
