Sweeten the Heart, Like a Bottle of Wine - Monday’s Inspiration 13.

Updated on May 29, 2017

Quote from a Seer

“The age-old discovery—

Forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness –

Is the only way to real happiness." -Sri Chinmoy

A Free Verse Sonnet

From the confines of the living room, be free.

Go up unto the roof and look over…

Do you not hear the cries of your brethren

In distant lands?

Switch rooms for a day.

The lotus within bids you blossom.

The Light from afar is calling: Come! Come!

And the Soul yearns for the joys of union.

O Lantern, You are not the sac

That veils your Beauty….

The thorn, disguising the elegance of thy rose.

Love is simply building a fireside, for your arrival.

So come, let your wings unfurl, like the gracefulness of the pine,

Sweeten the Heart, like a bottle of wine.

“If we live in our Oneness-Heart,

We will feel the essence of all religions

Which is the love of God.

Forgiveness, compassion, tolerance, brotherhood

And the feeling of oneness,

Are the signs of a true religion.”-Sri Chinmoy

Are we sufficiently accommodating to those we do not know?

Good stuff dear friend. We are taking care of our animals tonight and that makes us love our friends more deeply.

Manatita, when I first left home, both the hills and the ocean were in full view. Now there are too many houses. I'm thinking of creating a view from my rooftop. Would you advise me to take a bottle of wine with me up there?

Seriously though, I like the line: "Love is simply building a fireside, for your arrival."

Your poem and the Sri Chinmoy quotes are important and inspirational, Manatita, especially considering the state of the world and humanity today.

A beautiful poem. I cannot change the world, but I can change my response to it.

      Me too, Peggy, me too.

Let's not under-estimate our power. Let's continue to serve ... to inspire. Ants are so industrious! Small, but they achieve enormous things. So grateful to you and thank you so much! Welcome here.

I like those lines related to the "essence of all religions" being the love of God. Wish that the people on our small planet swirling about in the vastness of space could learn to live peacefully with one another.

Beautiful! Showing sympathy is very much necessary . It gives strength to the sufferer. I loved this quote. Conquering our self is the biggest achievement. We should know ourselves in order to decipher the world around us. Good concept.

A very inspirational hub. Enjoyed reading it.

      Thanks, Three Keys.

I have been back regularly for 5 months, perhaps.

Yes, the Heart is the guide and indeed wisdom should dictate. All becomes well when we use the Heart -the psychic Heart...

Good to see you. Loving thoughts.

I think we can be accommodating to a point. That is, accommodating to the point it doesn't offend or injure our values. If we cannot accomodate another, it is best to be silent or remove yourself from that person. Therefore, a kind of peace still reigns instead of a unneccessary stance being taken by each side attempting to prove their side of the equation, which may or may not be seen or heard by the other.

Nice to see you are still creating manitita.
