Synchronic Change, a Poem

Updated on June 26, 2013

Synchronic Universe

I lose a home,

I get offered a home.

Have to be in by the 1rst.

Have to leave the other by the 30th.

Thank you, Universe,

I will be brought in for questioning.

To receive another job,

on top of the other one.

Is this a commercial?

Are you kidding me?

no... I understand.

It's the flow of endless love

I gave my Brother,

and neighbor, and friend,

and the gazelle of Creekside,

who can still walk,

and nod to Lester's stories,

when he chooses to tell them...

and it's all the moments of

abject fear

laid to rest,

it's sunrise, it's change,

it's fearful,

it's delightful,

like riding a horse,

your horse, bareback

thru stinging nettles,

and laughing, as the dawn

makes wash of shadows...

You who prayed for me...

Thank you!

"like riding a horse...bareback thru stinging nettles and laughing as the dawn makes wash of shadows..." Beautiful language/imagery, Lily!
