TAKE ME HOME TO THEE

Updated on April 16, 2012

If only there were some place

Where the walking dead go

To meet their final demise

Sleep, peaceful, and never arise

Beneath a valley

That none remember

Or creep into a cave

And no more care or crave

Weep or rankle for love

With unbearable anguish

Ever scourging and fresh

And repose whence all is lush

Where are the celestial gates

I’ve undertaken the journey

Yet have not passed the slough of despond

Weary Christian, to whom, none respond

Take my soul Lord,

Let me rest on your bosom

My trail leads nowhere

My pain, more than I can bear!

Take me home to thee

Sweet abandon, embrace me

Lord, I am futile, as well, you see

Let my sleep, eternal, be

Oh My God, this is so beautiful. My heart responded with a skip in beat especially at the last few lines when you said "take me home Lord....".
