(Philippians 3:14 KJV) "Pressing Towards the Mark"

The things I used to think were worth gaining,
Do not have the same hold on me today,
All of those worldly shaped desires
which seemed to be so important,
are fleeting, and have become, beside the point,
To win Christ I count all things loss, I want to know Jesus for myself, personally
with every fiber of my being,
The excellency of the power
Yes, this treasure in my earthen vessel,
Understanding my frailties and weaknesses, and
I am merely potter’s clay, and that there is a need in me to know the power of His resurrection,
For this purpose I am pressing in.

We want God’s will to be done, and His kingdom to come in and through us,
We don’t want to be dressed up in our own righteousness but,
Clothed in His royal array every day and in every way,
In the garments the King purchased for us through His shed blood,
The righteousness which is of God by faith,
I want to walk with Jesus and not a concept of Him,
Be acquainted with the fellowship of His sufferings,
Have them crystal clear in my soul,
To be made conformable unto His death, and
To know that I am not exempt from sorrows symphonies,
Life is not a bed of fragrant roses, but I know for myself who wore the thorns,
I am following after Christ and my life is no longer my own,
I have found a new worth for my life in Christ Jesus,
This is the reason I am pressing on.

One thing I am doing and will be striving to do is,
Forgetting the things which are behind,
Neither replaying or rehearsing them in my mind, but rather,
Learning the lessons from the past and making an effort to be teachable in the future,
Reaching forward unto those things which are before me,
Laying strong hold of all the godly principles found only in the Word of God,
Behold, God is doing a new thing in the earth,
Atmospheres are shifting and breakthroughs are springing forth,
We move toward the new climates created by the supreme good of heaven,
The high calling of God in Christ Jesus,
For our conversation and prayer is in heaven and it will never be earthbound!
We are raised with Christ and we are seeking the things which are above,
Not the things on the earth which can distract us from our intentional aim,
Of conforming into God’s image and likeness, the Imago Dei,
Jesus seated in heavenly places motivates our faith to look above,
This is why we are pressing upward.
