THIS WAY to Paradise - a Poem
“Try not to get worried, try not to turn on to
Problems that upset you, oh don't you know
Everything's alright, yes everything's fine
And we want you to sleep well tonight
Let the world turn without you tonight…”
Oh, those familiar lines…
THIS WAY → to Paradise
Your trip starts here.
You got two tickets to Paradise
Time flies, you’re riding the sunset to sunrise
Do you steer to the side and ask for guidance?
Do you follow what you’re told or take a chance?
Or do you keep up with your ego
Where alongside your lady is all aglow?
Are you in a stance affected by romance?
That way IS to Paradise, you’re not going to France.
Would you debate or inquire for suggestions?
Would you examine a map or look for constellations?
The map you’re holdin’ won’t take you to a galaxy
The path to where you’re goin’ is to Paradise, you see;
You need her to navigate, but she gives you all the winkin’
Couldn’t understand its make, what are you thinkin’?
You ask, “Will she be a useful mate, the wife I want her to be?”
“To open the door to my heart, will she be the key?”
Finally, you’ve reached the heavenly Paradise
All the loads become a burden, you quickly realize
She’s prancing on the sands, joyfully ahead of you
Charmed by a handsome luck, muscles strong and true
She swings her long locks, the freedom from tousle
You awfully wonder, “Is my Lady playin’ a riddle?”
You shared straight for a relaxing cold shower
And put on those matching bold floral power
But your love can’t wait any few minutes longer
Your heartbeat is racing, getting remarkably stronger.
Do you follow your heart's unnatural pulsating drumbeat?
Do you love unconditionally or do you break it?
Now, her lustful stare and squishy smile do ignite a blow
You catch her glance beyond the delicate capiz window;
You ask of her, “Is something the matter, Sweet?”
“Don’t you like our special little retreat?”
She sweetly turns to say, “Yes, I do and nothing is the matter.”
“Can you please pick me up some fresh coco water?”
You did as you were told, following her direction
“This is Paradise,” you say, you’ve got to take action.
Coco water in hand, empty chair and a soft mahogany strand
Combing the shore, no imprints of her on the land
And there, the tall, tanned, muscled trencher
In both his palms is fresh coco-water.
Wrathful and invisible, drown by shadows for a while
You're scared you got a clue wrapped in a surprising style;
“This way to Paradise,” only a unicorn can hear
On sugar sands galloping, creeping, waving your ivory spear
Grabbing her by the hand, lost for a single word
In a sigh you said, “My Sweet, my heart you injured.”
“Why my Darling?" You’re kneeling, crying at her feet.
“You are my ever precious find on our first meet.”
“Forgive me my Love,” her teardrop kissed your forehead
“Right this very moment, to you I submit to wed;”
“I believe and confide in trust, not again will I misgive.”
Desire to love, madly in love; can you forgive?
Tears in your eyes, remembering the lines of a song
Whispering in your heart and mind, it doesn’t belong
Because you don’t want to get sadhearted and worried
You just want to tenderly hold her tight in bed.
“This way to Paradise,” you say
“We can make it happen, love tirelessly all day”…
"This way to Paradise! This way to Paradise!"
"It has to be. It has to be; no need to roll dice
I will take your hand, put on our wedding band
In this Island Paradise, we will make it grand;"
"Yes everything's alright, yes everything's fine
We will sleep well tonight over an exquisite wine."
"The sun’s lazy smile will greet us in early daylight
The hermit crabs will shy no more, 'go naked' delight;
We will ride the sail to the deepest turquoise blue
Oh beautiful Darling, goodness is my virtue.”
“My lovely angel bride, dressed in dainty white,
We will let the world turn without us tonight.”
