TONIGHT: A POEM

Updated on June 3, 2012

Note to all my patient readers: I thank you so much for your kindness and patience to see me write the same genre of poetry but love is magical and it makes me very crazy! I hope you don't grow tired of me! So here I go..... again!

Roses, soften your scarlet hue

Listen to the breezy melody of the skies

Dew drops soft falling on the grass

Wondrous revelation of earth and heaven’s mystic ties

Silver lady! Hide behind the creamy black of the night

Make tonight as magical as ever

Oh! I hear the horse’s trod, as I pull my mantle closer

To guard against the chill night’s delightful fever

And then! Against the starlit sky

Against the brilliant cloaks of the moon

Stood his gallant form, robes flowing

His profile turned, made me want to swoon

Love! Tonight must be ecstatic

My heart throbs and goes out to you

And he galloped down the shadowy vales

And swooped me, as his eyes shone blue

We sung in joy, my hair waltzing with the wind

But when in his deep voice, he spoke, soft

I blushed and looked down, speechless

My coyness for you alone, my liveliness, stopt

But he just laughed in that darling voice

And we swept over the dainty vales

As he gave me flowers of the sweetest scent

With you, our love belongs to fairy tales

But then, as the first chirp drifted along

And a pale red orange laced the skies

He lifted me down and kissed me, smiling

And I knew that should suffice until he ever abides

I turned sadly away

To awaken from my dreams

To wait for night again

To join thee, as with hope, soul gleams!

Sharon - Never apologize for being able to write so eloquently about love. Enjoy these moments that make you want to write about them. They are the moments, at the end of our days, that will give us comfort when we reflect. You will have many hours of comfort my Dear.

Beautiful and I never tire of reading them.
