Take Time For Grandma
She is often the oldest root of the family tree and should be honored by Every Member of the family.
This poem is for you, the one who is always forgetting to call her, always forgetting to see her, and always forgetting to remember that without her, one of your parents would not have existed and there would probably be no you.
You are missing out on so much by not making her a respected, loving part of your life...
You are missing out on family history, your mama’s history, or daddy’s history.
Take time for Grandma…Her golden years should feel like her best years...
Take time for Grandma…Her mind is not as strong as it used to be, her walk not as straight as it used to be, but her pride and strength remains the same.
For her to have survived the sometimes cruel hands of time for this long is more then enough reason to treasure her and honor her.
Take time for Grandma while she can still smell the flowers of life, still recognize people who call and visit her.
Her love of God and family is unchanging, and you will find that her memories of your forgetfulness don’t have a permanent place in her mind or her heart.
Take time for Grandma even when she can’t cook like she used to, remember names and people like she used to, let her always feel Royal and lifted in the presence of all the members of your family tree.
Bring the children around her and teach them how to honor her age, honor her title, and respect her.
Loving her should be easy and to those of you, who know the value of her presence in your life, continue to lift her spirit up by your presence and your deeds towards her, and continue to be the one to go the extra miles for Grandma.
God smiles at you...
