"Take the Day" by Rolly A. Chabot

Welcome

Morning everyone. I do hope your day if it has started is one you have taken the time to look at and appreciate. For those are still resting, continue. The day will be here when you awake.

It rips the heart from me while I watched the news last night to see a small child refused proper medical attention because his parents had no health care. This is here in North America, two of the greatest and riches countries in the world. Can we not look after the people with the vast resources we sell as commodities throughout the world.

Come along today as I rant and share a few thoughts and yes again another attempt at poetry. Please feel free to make yourself at home and above all know that you are loved.

Our Government

Source

Who do our elected officials think they are. Do they actually believe they are God because the family who lost the child was not "One of Us." Does that mean we as a people are to stand back and allow this to happen. This was an innocent child.

I have never worked at a job where I was guaranteed a position for four years, let alone while I have it make decisions that can and will alter the lives of millions for years to come. The reasoning is because you think and I repeat 'THINK" you have the solution.

While you hold office you live the extravagant life, Hosting dinner parties and jet setting all over the world because you think and again I repeat "THINK" you are important. At one point and time people had a say about what our leaders were doing. Do not be fooled, that "Say" that you once had has been taken away from us all.

I have no idea what your political views are or where you stand on things but the one thing I do know is we the people need change, we need leaders who are not afraid to stand up for what is right. They need to be leaders of integrity, solid morals and values and people who are willing to fight for what is right. This child that was lost had no say, his parents had no say. I was again reminded and asked myself what say do I have.

Any Difference

Ressemblance

Can you see it come election time the scramble to get to the head of the pack so you can have all you want. Where our leaders come out in their true form and their true colours show through. Once at the feeding place like these little guys they make sure they get it all while a child is cast away because he cannot afford to be treated with the medication he needs to live.

Can we make a difference. I think we can if we start to address the concerns through holding our governments accountable. I know this is so huge none of us can grasp it. Governments are allowing multi national companies to call North America home to move jobs overseas because of cheaper labour and yet still reap the tax benefits we allow them to have. Meanwhile all those workers here have no work. The list just goes on and on. We rape the land of our natural resources, shipping them overseas to be refined and shipping them back so you and I can pay premium price for them.

In Canada the average workers has to work 7 months to get to a place we call Tax Free Day. That means everything we work for in that 7 months goes to the Government of the day. Our banks are paying us nothing for the money we place in them. 1-2 % per year while the banks run their own mortgage firms with our money and rake in 6-8 % interest over the term of the mortgage. Let alone what the banks do to the little guy with his credit card debt where charging 30 % is the norm on the unpaid balance. Is it any wonder I refuse to carry a balance of any kind.

We had a run a few years back by a grassroots party here in Canada called the Social Credit Party. The would be Prime Minister was so very wise. His platform was based on one simple truth. Flat tax every working and retired individual along with all business 25% across the board. We would have been out of debt three years later. His was not elected into power because of all the complaining of Multinational Companies and foreign investment. Today we the average Joe pays for the taxes through working for the first seven months of the year. People need to get their heads out of what ever orifice they have them in and be realistic.

Take The Time

Where does it go after it passes

It never stops but instead roams

It covers the the mountains and all the earth

Its name is the wind.

We watch it roll into view

From far off it comes

Its roar can be heard as it crashes ashore

Its name is the ocean.

It comes to us from far above

It can warm us and burn us

Yet it is so far away what a great mystery

It is the sun.

We walk on her

We play on her

We try to respect her

She is the earth.

We argue and fight with them

Over who is right or wrong and we war

They are our fellow inhabitants of this land

They are the people.

We watch our officials near and far

Elected or not take what they want

While so many hunger and cry and are never heard

They are our Governments.

The time has come for all to gather

To discuss the great need

And do what we are called to, it is love

We are the people.

Take the time today to look at what we trodden on so heavily and without thought. Listen close to the call of the people to extend that hand of love. Take the time today to stand and say enough is enough. Take the time today to hold those in authority to accountability as millions starve and they turn a blind eye. Take the time today to pray for all those who have lost the innocent because no one hears the plight. Take the time today to reach out to someone in need and simply love.

Morning Deb... thanks for the heart you have to care. I do think we can all make a difference should we take the time to reach out and help.

Accountability sometimes means tough love with friends and family. Helping is a great thing but when accepting help becomes expecting help then it becomes another story. Thus I think the reason for the "Me" society.

Stand firm on what you believe in... and yes love is the key to all evils.

      Hugs and Blessings

Oh Rolly I so agree with what you have said.. people don't love each other anymore there is no compassion no one cares for the children for each other .. Everyone just cares about oneself..

My dear friend what a great hub you have wrote here.. what do i believe???? I believe in what is right.. it is right to care for children not to kill them it is right to help your neighbor and your neighbor could be anyone.. it doesn't matter the color of skin or sex.. or origin.. all that matters is love.

thank you for sharing your wonderful hub

Hi Leslie... wow... I am loved... smiles and thank you for the comment and the share. Funny thing about the political system. We are seeing it right now in the Canadian senate that snoozes half the time. Take Pamela Wallan and Mike Duffy for example for years they were broadcasters here in Canada and reported on abuse of tax payer dollars. Is it any coincidence they are two of the top spenders now. I find it appalling they can stand now in total shock and look at the reporters as if they are crazy questioning them. Obviously they have both been well fed by the weight they have gained.

I guess one of the side benefits of working hard and running all day like most of us is we get to stay trim. Make you a deal you vote for me and I will vote for you next election and we will clean the system up... smiles.

      Love you right back... Hugs

Hi Gypsy... from what I have been hearing and seeing worldwide it seems to be an epidemic of corruption and the sense of entitlement on their parts. Is it any wonder we have been seeing people revolt and take to the streets...

Hugs and Blessings to all in your world...

i love you - i honestly love you!

But seriously - i love YOU!

I adore bullshit being called what it is - BULLSHIT! I hate what's happening in the world - that corporations are people - AND - more important people than you and me - and that poor innocent child..

we DO have the power to change things - by making these things as public as possible - by shaming the pigs responsible for there being nothing left at the trough..

by shining a light into the filthy, disgusting corners of this pigsty of a world..

please let me help shine the light - by sharing this awesome write!

      did i mention - i love you?

      LOL

Amen to that Rolly. Your rant is well justified. Wish love and understanding could be passed on. Our government here is all for themselves and their needs and we the people take a back seat. Hugs and blessings. Passing this on.

Hi Always... sorry but the child was in the US and I have been following your system for years and I find it hard to understand why it so fought against. I can go to any hospital in Canada and get the best health care and it costs me nothing. I sliced open my hand a few weeks ago with a utility knife and in less than an hour I was back home in the small town where I live all stitched up and with pain meds. It certainly works here.

      Hugs and Blessings

Was the child in Canida? I thought Canada had national health care. It makes me so angry that this could happen anywhere in the world. We are trying to get national health care here in America. The insurance companies and the AMA are fighting hard against it, lobbying great sums of money to defeat any bill the President attempts to get our do nothing congrass to pass.. Cheers my friend..

Hi Eric... lol... we all do but such is life right. I lived off the grid for a few years in the north and loved it. All I needed was provided.

Lots of interesting thoughts and truths here. I think you are so right about the entitlement of government people. What is good fo us is not good enough for them. It is easy to throw a quick healthcare plan and go about and get all the medical care they need for very little. Today officials are into their entitlement and taking care of the people if they do is by accident. Great hub..Up and sharing.

Yes, there is no sense in the loss of a child, when it could have been prevented. How very disturbing. Love is the answer, and let us all take time out of our day to do just that. . . love.

Thanks for the profound write here.

      Voted up +++ and sharing.

God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper
