Tarry Not

Tarry Not

My blood runs cold
as missiles fly...
for innocent blood
my spirits cry...
Fire rains
beyond my reach,
dropping bombs
to lessons teach...
Tarry not,
Oh Prince of Peace!
Your children languish
in Hope's decease.
Stay the hand
that longs for blood.
Let mercy pour
in tidal flood,
to wash afresh
and Love renew...
Draw to Thy Breast
who yearn for You.

Oh, Marsha, it's a great deep message here, and we see every single day where it gets us... There is always a choice, right? Why is it always goes the wrong way....

I agree with you, Paul...violence to prevent violence strikes me as an oxymoron...this one came when I heard we had joined the bombing in Libya...I don't have the answers, but I can't see the possibility in bombs...Hugs

X-Dplus-X, thank you! I am a believer, and a Christian, yes, but an unaffiliated one...meaning I don't subscribe to denominational religion...and I see that as a good thing, indeed! Thank you kindly for your visit! I look forward to following you! ~Peace~

Although belated in this discussion, I just wanted to say not only do I not want bombs to ever fall again, but I want to crawl through life's miseries to get to the people who need us - maybe then, the seemingly too often used long-distance "easy way," bombs, will never be needed again...

Your poetry is so precious, your thoughts are my thoughts. When i saw the fire flash across the sky, i wanted to scream, not again, no more.

The end always preceeds a beginning. Ugliness dies in the face of emerging beauty and death comes that life may begin again. Beautiful write!

      Beautifully succinct, mournfully evocative.

Oh, tnderhrt23! I should have known it was you right away! lol - when Hopping, I glance at whether the Hubber has a pic or not, then get right to it without looking more until I decide to comment...

I can always gauge the personal appeal of something by the physical sensations I feel as I read, listen, watch, etc - you shiver me once again!
