Teardrops on a Silent Pond

Updated on May 26, 2015

Soft pale cheeks gleamed on the shining sun
The eyes were closed and undefined
Breathing so hard like a dying man
Lips twisted on a cold line

Sitting quietly on this silent pond
Silhouette of shadows keeps her company
Clouding her heart with pain
For reasons she denies to see

Now her teardrops suddenly fall
Whispering secrets that only fate can hear
Echoing something that could tear a heart apart
Tell me, is this not much to bear?

Waiting patiently for one small sign
Through this secluded silent pond
Waiting... just waiting
For true love to make a stand

Waiting is so hard. As always you say so much with so few words. Can feel the pain and the beauty at the same time. Your writing is SO gifted. God bless, Sparklea voted up and awesome :)

This is a lovely poem. It paints a sad but beautiful picture.

Spy, this is beautiful. I especially like the line, "whispering secrets that only fate can hear". Very poignant!
