Tears in the Rain

Updated on March 16, 2016

My heart is heavy, oh it hurts so much,

The sting of your words,

The thoughtless tossing of my pride,

To let my ego lay there on the ground.

In the cold, cold rain….

You turn your back, like you never cared

and played me like a fiddle,

A sweet seductive song,

you pied piper, lonely hearts maker

So I came in from the abyss,

listening to the music, wrapped up in the stanza.

Trusting, wanting, feeling, hoping.

All for not ……all just a game.

Then you shut the door, I heard it slam,

and walked away. Leaving me standing in the utter,

darkness….. again……. to which I have become accustomed…

I do love a fiddle! But you my Dear - you are a Stradivarius! But - if you ever want to fiddle around...

God bless you Dear! You deserve the best!

thank you Leni and welcome to my Hubs. I read your profile and i am quite impressed and i plan to go back and read more of your Hubs as i hope you do with mine. Just for the sake of conversation this poem is not about one particular man, but rather a culmination of "matters of the heart" and difficult lessons learned from the past. I shall keep writing for sure, i posted 3 hubs just today. i would be honored if you followed me. thank you for the kind words indeed. lvh

I think he's more a weasle than a walrus, ralwus!

You're better off with him, writinginalaska. Wash that man right outta your hair, throw all your energies in to your writing and keep those hubs acoming...

      Great poem BTW.

Tear in the rain, I think we all have had a few of those days. I know I have in my past, even though it was painful at the time, those tears were also a release much needed. I hope your tears have dried and you have moved on to greater heights. Peace and hugs from the Saddle

Oh my, he sounds like a walrus to me. So sad, but good writing. I can't handle sad today, it's gloomy enough here, cool and wet too. Cheers dear lady. Charlie
