Techno-Color Dreams

Updated on June 3, 2010

This is a lyric I wrote back in 1994, I do have a copyright on it, but I never really got the chance to work with a musician in seeing this one make its way in tune. I have always held on to it anyway, because it reminds me of a rather good time in my life. I was taking music promotion class and I met the really great guy and we were friends and even went out. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen him, but this lyric was written at that time and it always brings me back to those days, when ever I read it.

Techno-color Dreams

What is this I see?

A new specimen

You can’t walk over me

So don’t try to pretend

Through your tricks I see

Nine times out of ten

You want to be set free

So you can do it all again

Tell me what is on you mind

What is your scheme?

Because I’ll see you tonight in my techno-color dreams

You will not make me mad

I will not have a scene

Because I’ll see you tonight in my techno-color dreams

As sure as snake do crawl

Dreams are thoughts waiting to be thought

Like a shadow on the wall

You always put me on the spot

I run, I trip, I fall

I keep seeing polka dots

Cause when you can’t wake up at all

The answers in you coffee pot

Tell me what is on you mind

What is your scheme?

Because I’ll see you tonight in my techno-color dreams

You will not make me mad

I will not have a scene

Because I’ll see you tonight in my techno-color dreams

Our sense they feel power

With the messages they send

I see victims in my tower

Which I can’t comprehend

Another day, another hour

Another new trend

I keep seeing green and yellow flowers

And getting caught in a dead end

You say that I am crazy and I go to extremes

But I’ll see you tonight in my techno-color dreams

What I’m telling you is true; things aren’t always what they seem

When I see tonight in my techno-color dreams

If there are any tunesmith out there, who would like to see this become a song, please email me and let me know. Like I said previously, this is copyrighted material, so you must email me first, before using my lyric. Any copying or using without my permission is forbidden.

Clever you for copyrighting it, and I think it's a great idea to put it up here. Fingers crossed it meets its match in music. It sounds "Hendrix-guitary" in my head (guess who's not a musician!).

Thank you Ainehannah, I'm gald you liked it. I would like it so much if it could be put to music. No I'm not a musician, I tried learning guitar once, but I just didn't have an aptitude for it. I enjoy writing lyrics, I just have to find someone who has some music to go along with this lyric.

Thanks Nikki1, actually only the poetry is mine, I got the artwork of the net. I don't know who the artist is, so I couldn't list the credit for the picture. It is a very nice picture. Thanks for stopping by.
