Temptation's Curse

By Tony DeLorger © 2012

Speechless, enamoured,
humbled by the presence,
in form and state,
with heart relate,
incurably in awe.

Faith restored,
my mind implored,
to reach for furthest goals,
one step to take,
one heart forsake,
and I am yours, installed.

Perfect guise,
hypnotized,
self-inflicted pain,
in jeopardy of sabotage,
of denigration made.

Systematic dismantling,
edging closer still,
of mind and truth,
belief construed,
confusion rules,
imbued.

Crawling,
soulless reaping,
lies cat creeping,
mind a blank,
always yearning,
hardly earning,
life's insidious prank.

Empty,
pleasures plenty,
traps of moments,
given bare,
bitter swallowed,
soul now hollowed,
reality distant,
lost, unfair.

Ever searching,
earth now leaching,
compromised and spare,
lost in thoughts,
dark resorts,
and we the pawns,
despair.

Higher path,
now aftermath,
a soul regurgitated,
wanting,
alone, unease,
deplored and squeezed,
no blood or flesh or bone.

Which door shall I open?

      Tony,

A great poem about the road of life many do travel, and feels like they are living a second-hand life.

Open the door to a new life with sunshine softly touching the ground and happy person in the poem will be.

      Your Hub Friend,

      Bobbi Purvis
