That Freeway Of Loneliness

Updated on August 4, 2014

Darkness with little hope that can be seen. If you lose hope, remember to always believe in yourself. The inner soul is a fire that burns! It brings new light, and will strengthen your heart.

by Jeb Bensing

The feeling of emptiness can be like a freeway.
It may seem like there is a large quantity,
In actuality,
Your are the only one.
Life moves to fast,
Decisions have to be made in a flash.
When the mind begins to reminisce about the past,
Memories just reflect on what you could have had.

So much time spent alone,
You begin to feel at peace when away from everyone.
A time to introspectively rip apart all the things you have done.
Believing all that was accomplished,
Was never good for anyone.
You become out of reach, out of touch,
There is never time for hospitality.

Finding that light within your soul, when you thought there was none to be seen. Holding on to that belief in hope, understanding you will find better days.

No use praying for a higher power to lead the way.
How can you be found when the soul is left astray.
Lost and lingering on that freeway.
The heart becomes overwhelmed,
Never is there a person who can help you cope.
Just grit your teeth while dealing with another day.

All you see within yourself is that darkness in your heart. You must fight back, and believe in yourself.

I have fought with the Devil,
He has beaten me and,
Dragged me down to his level.
Tried looking deep into my own heart,
At times nothing can be seen,
Feeling that even God has forsaken me.

Walking along that desolate freeway.
All broken down and left astray.
Only to be left alone,
Trying to find my own way.

Faced with death.
There are no answers left.
Trying to cope and,
Sifting through all the mess.
When you always believed,
Hope had been effaced from your mind,
Your soul took the opportunity to shine.
Forced to animate and bind,
The love, friendship, and hope,
It all began to connect,
Just when it was thought there was none to accept.

There will be times when you feel alone and beaten while living in this world. At some point, the time will come when your own mind begins to believe in what so many others have said about you. You must never sink to the point where you begin to beat yourself down. Always remember that what you put out, others will give back, but that will just let you break even. The love and reassurance must then come from another source – YOU! When you love and support yourself, the self-esteem becomes ever so stronger. You can never be that celebrity, or that co-worker, you can just be yourself.

Living with a strong belief in yourself will continuously keep you rich, and full of happiness.

One of your best. Often will all reach a low point in our lives. This poem gives inspiration and hope.
