That Which Must Be Written

Updated on June 19, 2017

Poetry is the food of the soul. It's my greatest contribution to the world and an area I can always grow.

Tis history which reveals

That, mere words are simply not enough

For such which can be spoken

Must also be written

From humble beginnings,

Many advocates,

The authors, playwrights, and poets

Orators great and noble,

Skillful yet confined

By the singularity of a voice

Limitations,

Despite grand aspirations

Which led to revelations,

As scratching, scribbling, and sketching

Gave rise to early writing,

Their mediums evolutionary

Recording commodities

Properties, and increasing efficiencies,

Carvings on stones,

Tablets of clay, skins and parchments

Advancements recorded carefully;

Catalogued collections

Of tomes, manuscripts, and books

Safeguarding…everything,

Ensuring factuality

When memories fail

Conquerors conquer,

Or disaster plays an unexpected role

The written word,

Nothing short of extraordinary

Revealing efficiencies

Correcting inequities

And opening the door to literacy

Pictures were the first recorded form of communicating, as seen on the walls of caves and trees. The written word has shown that the human race has become more sophisticated and with this, we have advanced our civilization to the very stars. Blessings my friend. whonu

Indeed, so necessary for our times: Education, records, literacy and inspirations of course, plus ... plus. A thoughtful look at this subject
