The 22-Year-Old Male Who Writes Lyrical Poetry: 'Angels Never Need No Sleep'

Updated on December 8, 2016

Angels Never Need No Sleep

My head’s on the road,

Got it nailed to the ground,

And the rain,

It plays,

A melody.

A soft and sweet lullaby.

From the sky,

Straight down,

From a high,

On cloud 9.

Got a bounty on mine,

But no body on a head-line,

No rabbit in a headlight;

Just another sweet,

Summer dream tragedy.

I’m sure another episode shortly,

For the next one to breathe into me.

And there we go, again,

Back to reality now,

My “friend”.

This is how we are.

This is all we’ll be.

Never a day sober from you,

Not crazy.

Missing you,

Like i’m missing me.

Simply incomplete.

Lucky for angels,

They never need no sleep.

Over and over,

It plays in my mind.

You letting go of my hand.

Squeezing my finger,

And let slide…..

So that I fell from the sky,

Straight down,

From a high,

That I had back on cloud 9.

We realised -

So we expire.

We fade out of time,

For our tired little sorry tries.

Can we please forget,

Our moments that we had here,

Take them away!

Save me!

Cause’ I don’t wanna come back quickly.

Our moments in time,

Up there in the sky.

Where an angel lays,

Encompassing the memories.

Up there in the sky,

On cloud 9.

Those two rabbits,

In the headlights -

They died.

The headlines,

Found no disguise.

And now i’m a sinner.

Paying time,

For a price,

That no man could ever buy.

Still hope,

To see your name in a shining light.

By Juliet’s side,

Even when the moment dies…..

That angel above finally spread her wings,

And rung a harp as she sings,

A lovely soft and sweet lullaby,

That sends me to sleep.

As I fell from the sky,

Straight down from a high,

That I had back on cloud 9…..

I share on my Facebook page. That one is limited to a specific viewing audience. It has a bit too much drama, so I had to go that way. I also share on Twitter. I'm sure I've shared one on Google+.

As far as my friend, he usually only shares with me even after I encourage him to branch out. Lol. But, he did give me permission to show one of his poems along with mine. Now, if I can only remember which one it is on??? It may be at the bottom of my hub about epiphanies. Try to look there. :)

Well, this was just brilliant Darius! It is filled with feelings of admirations, and also tainted a bit with what could never be; a perfect sort of imperfection. Being on a high by an angel's side, until reality crashes back in.

I've been sharing your poems on my social sites. I think they need to be shared. I have a friend from Amsterdam, who has a similar take on poetry. Not exact, yours is that unique, but dark with a hint of light. He likes your poetry by the way.

Keep writing, I think you have a great gift and a lovely guardian angel lighting your way.
