The 22-Year-Old Male Who Writes Lyrical Poetry: 'Away - We Fade'

Updated on December 8, 2016
Away - We Fade
Away - We Fade

Away - We Fade

Well now its come to that point,
Where I’ve had enough.
Couldn't even look,
Or talk to me anyway.

I swim where the tide is out.
You're shallow in the deepest of ways.
For reasons wider than you can comprehend.
And louder than I control.

But you’ll not make me out,
To be the one in the wrong.
Told you, that you’d change.
And now, you shift me that blame.
I turned out alright,
Tonight, I realised.

How can we fade?
Can we turn out this way?
Where we look away,
And think of better days.
I tell you, I tried,
But now you can step aside.
Won’t break me, no way.
Just play me,
And make me,

To all of you;
I can't carry on this way;
Seek ahead the change,
And embrace me far away.
Far, far away.
Come and save me - far.
And I don’t care where, just far.
We'll fade - away.
Away, away, away.....

It's really good to hear from you, Darius. Having a brief time away actually doesn't sound like a bad idea. I may take some time myself. At least your taking time to enter contests, that's always a good thing. Maybe I will look into doing some contests. It helps keep us writers driven to continue. Like everything else, if it seems progress is moving slowly with something, we tend to get the notion to quite. It's good to find different ways to focus on a passion such as writing. :) You take care. Continue writing. Just be happy! I hope to talk to you again real soon.

Hey Missy, yea i've been making art to go with some of my pieces recently, it's good fun, and definitely helps readers actually envisage what it is i'm writing about sometimes. I've briefly stopped posting to HP because people in my life were reading too far into my poems. I'm currently writing externally for online competitions at the moment. I've been working on a piece since early November. Look forward to reading some more from you soon :)

How did I miss this one? It's been a while Darius. I absolutely love the raw deserve you have in your voice here. To be honest, I can relate to this one.

I love the pictures of you that you have added. It makes it more real, more deeply interesting. I think poetry is a part of ourselves, and we want the reader to see us and try to figure us out. As you know, I often place pictures of myself on my poetry.

I've missed you here Darius. I would have been by a lot sooner, but I haven't seen any updates stating you were writing. I thought you must be busy with school. I hope all is well with you. :)
