The Ballet of Life in Movement

By Tony DeLorger © 2013

Eloquently the paths of life take to the stage,

and the spotlight seizes moments,

like memories faint yet felt across the vastness of time,

and hearts imbued spark from recognition.

How random they seem, these chosen paths,

yet they fall under lines, like tracing out the known,

and we, none the wiser, follow destiny,

all that brings us to here, where we should be.

The ballet ensues, directed by omniscient eyes,

and the show must go on, with or without us,

the stage always set, props numerous and varied,

befitting our perceptions and needs.

Shall we remember our lines, give substance to our hearts,

implore that audience to empathise, to embrace us,

and we, at the mercy of ourselves, run our course,

under those lights, harsh and defined or muted in shadow.

Do we dance, plead life to follow our hearts,

or do we still to the pregnant pause of uncertainty,

while others embrace centre stage and shine,

taking all there is and delivering life fulfilled.

This stage is ours to determine, to accept,

and we can choose who we become,

with or without the light, with or without risk,

to in the end discover who we are.

We all dance to our own rhythm, sing to our own melody and follow our own chosen path.
