The Beatles Songs on iTunes Store

It’s Been a Hard Day’s Night filled with anticipation over Apples announcement yesterday morning. Just when you thought iTunes could not get any better they strike a deal to sell The Beatles songs and albums through iTunes Store. Whether you are middle aged, or older or from generation “Y" we all know and love at least a few of the Beatles songs. They are  timeless classics that make us Come Together, just like Elvis, and here forever! And that makes me and a whole lot of iTunes users happy enough to Shout. All Together Now, Thank You iTunes!

I currently have about 300 songs in my iTunes library. All of them purchased throughout a 3 year period. I must be one of the old dinosaurs which refuses to download music for free for fear of being the one in a billion sued over it. Enough consumers do downloads illegally already and that is wreaking havoc for the music industry. Just last month an article came out about a woman returning to court and being sued for 1.5 million dollars for downloading a mere 24 songs. Abusive costs and penalties ? Yeah! But think about all the song writers, entertainers and those in the music industry. They can know join the ranks of the unemployed as no one is buying their songs or albums.

Any time at All consumers can download and get music for free Eight Days a Week by either downloading or file sharing, and this Honey Pie likes to keep a clear conscious and play by the rules. There are those who subscribe to the philosophy that it is not illegal to file share, I’m talking About you and although crossing a fine line I’ll just Let it Be someone else. There’s a Place for those who insist on Too Much Monkey Business. Its called A Beginning to a new jail sentence.

Do you want to know a Secret? Yesterday as I read the headlines in the news the tune to Yellow Submarine played over and over in my head. I thought All I’ve Got To Do is Get Back to what I was doing before and Every Little Thing would be alright. All things Must Pass so I resumed buying a few songs from the iTunes store as well as an audiobook. I did have an iTunes gift card from my recent Birthday so what the heck, I splurged.

A friend of mine that gets says she gets bored with the same music turned me on to listening to audiobooks. I knew they were available but always found them a bit pricey. She cleans her house, goes for a jog, and does just about everything with the ipod earphones attached to her ears all while listening to books, not music, books. Never really ocurred to me but not a bad idea. I decided to try it and purchased Boardwalk Empire, the new HBO TV Series about how the mafia took over and ruled Atlantic City in Jersey.

I have mixed feeling about this new audiobook thing for if I like it I might need a part time job to pay for the audiobooks. Individual songs are only .99 cents or $1.25 unlike an audiobook where I practically have to take out a second mortgage, and we all know how the banks now a days feel about that!

Learn the lyrics

If you are a Beatles fan you might have noticed all italics are actually Beatles songs. We tend to remember lyrics for the more popular songs or the ones we loved the most. Here you can find the lyrics to all their songs. You no longer have to hum, blurt out an unitelligible word, or lip sync to fill in the words you don't know or can't remember. Maybe you can even learn a few new songs. I remember back in the day reading the words and singing along from the back of the album cover. I did that repeatedly until I memorized the song. Was it just me? Below are the most popular, the best love songs and my personal favorites. Dare to take a trip down Penny Lane and watch the Strawberry Fields Forever video. The quality is superb.

Mine is a musical family. My mother loved to sing. She could always be heard softly humming a tune while going about her daily household chores. Bless her soul. My older brother has been a music engineer ffor two decades.  He's responsible for my love of music in general. He's played the guitar and drums since he was about 12. He has been into Rock and Roll Music and played in various bands, has worked for Billboard Live and toured with Chayenne, Ricky Martin and Julio Iglesias to name a few. He was a die hard Beatles fan, to this day can sing and play a good number of their songs. I love all types of music and wish I could but can barely dance, can't play any instrument, nor carry a tune, but I do so anyhow.

I made a video of me singing I'll Follow the Sun to post here. After making my debut in front of family they suggested I send it in to Funniest Videos. Not sure whether that's a compliment or not, either way I mailed it off so I hope you aren't too disappointed. I took the liberty to attach a Beatles video below, I promise it is just as good as mine. Enjoy!
