The Beauty of Creative Writing

By Tony DeLorger © 2013

Words are intricate keys to expression,

and both in context and using syntax we explore their limits,

to open doors to many levels of meaning and understanding,

while painting pictures and engaging minds seductively,

shedding light on the beauty of creativity and language.

As an artist choosing colour and texture to render the world,

we so choose our words to render worlds in the mind of the reader,

and with skill evoke emotions and add layers to our expression,

always searching for originality and truth,

and the aesthetics of written communication.

We may use sounds, rhyme, rhythm and alliteration

to give power to our words and their meaning,

describe, imbibe, tempt, shock and resolve thoughts,

to stir emotions and open minds to consider virgin ground,

all with the stroking of keys, filling an endless white space.

When writing pours into the mind like silken honey,

it soothes and placates resistance and opens a heart of appreciation,

to the whim of the writer, the purpose of intent,

all delivered to the page in aesthetic form,

a marvel of beauty and expression.

All this our aspiration, the honing of skill and style an endless passage,

each word closer to that elusive perfection that each one of us, as writers, seek,

and each moment of our quest the love of language,

and the rendering of a giving heart,

willing to share what lies within us, thought to expression.

Much appreciated Genna. The one thing we all share is the beauty of language. Have a great day.

What beautiful usage of the English language, my friend!

Like my 'profile' states: I ADORE words - they're sexier than Elvis and Blue Suede Shoes - COMBINED!

      THIS was VERY

      voting up and hub-sharing!

Writers know the truth of that which finds, discovers and eludes. This is the perfect narrative and homage of that quest which resides within the soul, inescapably. Beautifully done. :-)
