The Bedroom #2

Updated on March 13, 2017

Framed faces hang in quiet contemplation,

gazing out at the barren room, in Cornflower blue,

the color of an artist’s eyes.

It is a simple room, for a complex man,

with furnishings the hue of a field of wheat.

The pale, worn floorboards are reminiscent

of a state of mind.

Shutters stand ajar,

in an attempt to let a bit of light

into the darkness that is his world.
