The Best We Can Hope For

Updated on March 23, 2016

The best we can hope for

is love that is true

a dream that goes on forever

finding the happiness we seek

never sitting by and meek

full of the spark of life

vim and vigor on sunny days

dancing and splashing in the rain

and rainbows that stretch far across the sky

shining hope into our hearts

the best we can hope for

are new dreams that come flying

on the wings of a dove

days that makes our hearts rejoice

a brighter tomorrow

that brings an end to all sorrow

and smiles never ending

for that a special love to find us

chasing away all the gloom

as the shadows disappear

and a new sun takes the night away

the best we can hope for

is another tomorrow

another chance at this life we lead

a new path to take

things finally going our way

our star ascending

only good days from now on

that is the best we can hope for

We needed this today after the chaos in Brussels. The best we can hope for is hope and love. Beautiful Rasma.

I try not to hang onto a lot of hope. I'm not saying I don't hold onto a little, but since I watched that epic speech, Jim Carrey gave to a bunch of college students; I try to hold onto faith more than hope.

Jim Carrey quote; " I don't believe in hope. Hope is a coward. It walks through the fire, but jumps over it."

Nonetheless, I really like all of your poetry Gypsy. You always write inspiring and encouraging words. I definitely love that! Great poem!

That's a lot to hope for and yet very doable...thank you for the beautiful inspiration.

Beautiful and lovely poetry on the theme of love and hope for better tomorrow. Another tomorrow with another chance to take a better path mending all our previous faults. That's what God provides you daily. Another chance to become better and happier.

Sorry for the late reply. Have fallen a bit behind with a full plate and heading into the April poetry challenge on my poetry blog. Sigh....

      Thank you Emge.

      Thank you Ruby.

Thank you Missy Smith. In a way that is right but I would like to have both hope and faith working in unison.

      You welcome Bill.

Thank you Venkatachari and so very true.

      Thank you Linda.

      Thank you Manatita.

      Thank you Swalia.
