You talk to me of the moon and stars.

But I see the cool mist rise

from the lake instead

and shiver,

wishing I were warmer somehow.

The moon is barren

as is the moment.

So, your blind date "wasn't all that". he couldn't go for a kiss, because you turned your back and the key at the same time, as you muttered, "Thanks for nothing."

It isn't chilly, it is downright cold. I'll have to step outside and warm up.

Hope Audrey, hope exists that this will all be over soon, and spring will bloom with the fragrance of fresh flowers in the air.

Thank you Frank--I always have a hard time with titles--so I really glad that this one works---and thank you Senoritaa--this moment isn't autobiographical--but a passing moment only---And hope is sometimes needed for me--when the moment is lonely--

This brings back memories of the time my wife and I were camped out in Northern Arizona. We were 75 miles from any major city, and the dark night sky was magnificent, but it was also high and cold, so we looked until we were chilled!

      Excellent work!

Thank you Will! Actually, it must have been a beautiful sight to see the sky with so little city light!

    • WillStarr profile image

It's stunning to see, Audrey. The Milky Way is gorgeous, and it's easy to spot satellites racing across the sky, lit up by a sun that long ago set. An amazing sight.

@Will--every year I teach at a music camp away from the city lights--and I love to sit out and watch the meteor showers at night---just so wonderful to see!
