The Black Hypocrisy

Updated on November 27, 2010

The feast almost gone...

but out of the system...

sated of thirst and hunger it seems...

back to the hunger for things...

it beckons...

running to places with conscience dismissed...

pushing, shoving, striving for the deal...

at times unscrupulous in aims unthankful...

leaving truth in the hands of the handlers of money...

Were you thankful when you shed blood or bought it frozen?

Was it a shame when you were stuffed midst family?

Why in this world would people act madly?

What in the season have we forgot?

To whom to we bow, Mammon or our maker?

we find out on a day named for our lust...

black as our intent...

unfit for the innocent...

venturing for things that we want...

least they be run over for not being strong...

Looking at the world it care and dismay...

it is easy to see why our world is a mess...

why nature threatens to throw us away...

disease on her surface...

it isn't because we exist or we eat...

not really because of the byproducts of use...

only slightly because of war or peace...

almost all for how we treat and abuse...

of all her children and that of our maker...

we are the most brutal to those not as strong...

paying lip service once in a while with money...

yet mowing them down in the streets dusk till dawn...

Our streets are paved with their blood and tears...

our industry reeks of their sweat unrequited with means...

we wait till we're mandated to succor the suffering...

Whats wrong with us that we are creating hell down here?

Until there's no black days there's no excuse...

You have to ask yourself what you can do.

I am glad to hear that Dave. Now we just need to get the rest of the world on the same page.

I am glad you enjoyed. It was a pleasure to write and to hear from you. You are welcome and thanks for stopping by. I happened to be in a store on black Friday this year for some other reason then the sale, stupid me. I was appalled.

      Ha! I love it.

"it is easy to see why our world is a mess...

why nature threatens to throw us away... (I love this)

      disease on her surface..."

It's nearly suprising to find that she still deals with us! You barely have to watch the world to agree with this, and then

"we wait till we're mandated to succor the suffering... "

and the lines that follow it are so true. I just eat it up. Thank you :)

What was it to us? I think that is a matter of self introspection. What was it supposed to be? I imagine it had more to do with providing creature comforts in a short sighted sort of way. What was it supposed to be? heck this makes me feel hubilicious...

Society is such a mess! We fight for it every day of our lives...and in the end. WHAT is it all about? No one has an answer.
