"The Boy Left Kissing the Wind" by Eric Wayne Flynn

"The Boy Left Kissing the Wind"

Out upon thy lawn, an innocent, enchanted scene

For all is lost in love, 'tis love for so it seems

From my window, young love, I see a miss

Eye's gazing at each other, a fate sealing kiss

A wet dream, they set a sail for two

Out upon thy lawn, two blades, cutting in the dew

The sweet nectar, from their sweet hearts, rain

Swimming in emotion, lust drags us under, the fair pair in pain

So be it, thy cross, to save a sacred soul

The catalyst, for long before this kiss so take it's toll

It's dowry, a price we pay in blood

For what won't a poor boy do, will a poor boy do for love?

To show, the way, teach ith how to feel

For love doth exist, I've seen it before, it's real

It's a round, it's a bout, a peculiar place to find

Out upon thy lawn, for this is love, and so it must be mine

My tale, tucked, a way, a story, trapped inside the two

A question, doth come with love, the answer we wish we knew

Why must the petal be plucked, time and time again

A lost soul pay eth for our desecrations, thorns inflicting the hearts of men

And... ye I am just a boy, a boy forever, I have been

Out upon thy lawn, tis I, always, the boy left kissing the wind

Thanks Dana, I have a lighter side. I write whatever strikes me; if my life take a turn for lighter fare I will embrace it with open arms; yet I feel I am most destined for weight.

      Thanks for the insightful comment.

This was one of your more "lighter" poems. I enjoyed it. I liked seeing this side of you. I also liked the comment you sail to manatita44, how you understand yourself more each day. I always say to understand someone else you must understand yourself first.

I'll kiss the wind with you, Bro. It's safer. Great poem.
