The Burwell House Mysteries- Part 17
Dunn Brothers coffee shop was buzzing with business on this lovely July Morning. The air was hot and thick, but smelling the coffee grounds made the humidity worth walking here. Ron and I had been up late after the Staff Social. We both decided we needed some perk to wake us. We really enjoyed meeting the entire staff and engaging in the fun games and food that Tom and Louis had to offer. After the get together, Ron and I pulled out our books, laptops and got to work. We had promised each other that for our internship we would be very conscious of "The law of attraction." We continued to talk about it here at the coffee shop.
Our internship goal was to focus daily on the concept of the "Power of Attraction" since it was our research project and internship goal for our Psychology class. Knowing that asking, believing and receiving was the process of this important concept in the book "the secret", we did some creative visualization. "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." We both felt strongly that we had been led here to facilitate a mystical healing. The hauntings' were just as bold as they had been since we arrived at the Burwell house. What exactly our mission was, we did not know, but being open to this honor and facilitating whatever process it took, was our mission. Along with Tom and Louis, we believed strongly, we would be able to solve this Burwell house mystery. We also understood that in the power of attraction, our thoughts act like a radio tower that sends out a frequency. This energy goes out into the universe or to the creative energy, which I believe is God and it comes back. This energy can come back in the physical form and attract people, situations or events. We had remembered the research on quantum physics in relation to spirituality and felt it was quite captivating. Ron and I took turns reading the chapters that we felt would help us in this endeavor. What struck us most was how in every piece of evidence in the theory of quantum physics, pointed to the fact that when we are gone from the physical plane, we are not really gone. This little girl that had come to us in previous days was here. We knew it and felt her as if it were someone here in the physical universe. We wanted to help so badly, and that is when we got out the books to form a healing plan.
Sipping our coffee coolers, we heard someone say "What about Quantum Physics?" Across from our brown cushy leather chairs, sat a gray haired man with wire rimmed glasses and a lap top in front of him. Ron asked him if he was talking to us. The man came over and shook hands with Ron and stated that he was. "Hi, I didn't mean to eavesdrop but I couldn't ignore your intriguing conversation on quantum physics. My name is Rick Fletchene and I am a native from this city of Minnetonka. We introduced ourselves to Rick and shared with him details of our internship and our research topic. "I don't know if you remember, but I had been in here with some of the city folk back in June and we chatted for a spell. I hope you two did not think we were rude but when you stated that you were staying in the Burwell House Bed and Breakfast, a few of my friends got pretty silent." " Oh, I do remember that, we thought perhaps we had said something to offend you all." " Do you have some time on your hands so I can explain it?" Ron and I concurred that yes, we did have time to listen to whatever it was Rick was going to share with us.
"It was last year, and right about this time of year when I think about it, that it happened. There was a city council meeting at the old bed and breakfast. I guess there were probably seven of us gathered round that old oak table in the dining room. I opened up the meeting as the chair person. We all took in a delightful brunch that Tom and Louise had prepared for our group. We had come to respect and admire this young couple who had moved into the Burwell house. They had quite a reputation for delectable food. The brunch menu was no exception and included: fresh fruits, canopied in watermelon, freshly squeezed orange and cranberry juice, eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce, canadian bacon, salad bar and fresh homemade breads that Louis baked for us. We wondered why they had not been visited by the ghosts that we all knew lived on the premises. I guess we assumed no one in their right mind would stay if they knew the place was haunted.
At one point of the meeting we all heard a muffled voice, like that of a small child. It sounded like the child was sad and crying. The voice was wailing in between dimensions. I don't know how to explain it but we could hear her, and it sounded like she was behind a wall or something. The voice seemed to drift from one part of the dining room, clear into the other areas around us. It was like she was running from something. We could actually hear footsteps, not just one, but two people running across the wooden floor. One moment we could hear the girl softly, and then a loud shrill voice would come through and overpower the other. It was as if we were in the middle of some paranormal experience that had occurred in a different time in space. At the same time, the white lace curtains in the room swayed back and forth like someone was hiding behind them. Dimming on and off was the beautiful crystal chandelier that hung over the table. The grandfather clock struck midnight and we saw in the reflection, a young girl in white. She was so young, probably three or four years old. There was a blue hue around her. We all jumped out of our seats and ran out. Grown men, yes, but we were so scared, that some of the guys at that meeting will not talk about it to this day. So when we met you two that day this past June and you were living in that haunted house, well, I think you get the point." I have been reading as much as I can about the history of the Burwell house family and Quantum Physics because of the experience I had in the Burwell house. I found a great video too that talks about the controversy surrounding this concept. It compares the simplicity of Einstein & Newtons theory to the well know quantum physics that we really can't look away from anymore. Great stuff, can't get enough of it."
