The Carriage of a Soul

Updated on September 1, 2011

The Carriage of a Soul

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

The soul is like a crystal spire,

reaching yearningly

into the void of possibility.

Fragile in substance

yet unyielding in completeness,

the soul is marked

by the divine source

from which it came.

We, the carriage of its aspiration,

yield to its learning,

and through our minds

the delivery of upliftment.

We hold within us

this eternal spark,

this divine perfection,

to hone from our pain,

the purity of growth.

Each acknowledgement

and kindness

gives rise to the spire.

It flourishes like a tree,

its crystal branches extending out

creating light where there was darkness,

joy where there was pain,

and love where there was rejection.

We must honour the soul in our keeping,

the core of what we are,

the spark of infinite light and life.

I must compliment, that your sensitive words have created an understandable structure, out of the 'not connected' elements of the single human consciousness:- we call these heart, soul, psyche etcetera, in a vain attempt to categorize them.

Perhaps psychology can not define consciousness in its totality. We need a holistic approach to understand it, as I have found here in this poem of yours.

      A thoughtful poem.
