The Celestial Dancer

I laid back reclining on my pillow,

And searched for a window in my darkness.

Fingers interlocked at the back of my head,

I looked to the ceiling for answers,

Pondering the endless questions needed,

To shed Light on my despair.

Then She came in my longing,

Re-awakened my dreams;

Restored my once resolute Faith in man.

The grey walls of my inner prison,

Suddenly became an expanse of Light,

Opening up the portals to my Soul.

There She was, a magnificent silhouette,

Filled with a most effulgent Light.

She smiled, and like a firefly,

Danced, and danced and danced,

Enfolding my heart, with a melody of sweetness,

That left me speechless…

“Sweet Polestar, You peeped through the window,

Of my prison-cell of illusion,

Sent me a Celestial Dancer to thrill my Spirit;

Touched a flame, to the dark night of my Soul.

O Radiant Vision, You danced and danced,

Like a luminous Sunbeam;

Touched me with a reverent and deathless Love,

That left me drunk with Bliss!”

I watched transfixed, as my Dancer

Twirled and pirouetted, like Plisetskaya,

Sang and played music with Her lustred frame.

She floated weightlessly, like snowflakes;

Sent twinkling stars to my heart;

Gave magnificence to my Essence.

Slowly my tears became gleeful laughter,

Despair transformed into ceaseless joy,

And I dined with Delight.

The walls of my prison became silent,

My mind stilled and turned inwards,

As serene as a lake without ripples.

The air was crisp and fragrant,

I was thus lifted effortlessly,

Embraced by an ethereal glow.

Here in this birthless journey of timelessness,

We danced and danced,

Merged in that ineffable place,

Where beauty was like timeless sugar,

Loving and joyfulness became One…

And then She waltzed out of my window,

Blowing me kisses from her charmed lips,

Which floated, like ethereal butterflies,

Finding their way into my core,

Only to guide me, into yet another Dance.

      For my eyes, Plisetskaya danced,

      while in my mind, your poetry graced.

      Great tribute to a great writer. Blossom informs, educates and also writes amazing stories.

      Love the poem, going from boredom/despair to joy and the action of the dance.

      Thank you for coming Blossom. Some say that Plisetskaya was probably the best ever, and yes, the Cello is awesome. We have it as part of our public concerts and also in our pilgrimages in New York.

      Black swans, eh. Interesting. Glad your son plays. Music is a great healer for the Soul. Much Love, Bronwen, much ...

      What can I say, but Thank You! I was feeling down and you have lifted me up!

      Sorry for taking so long to respond, my computer has been playing up and no internet. Hopefully it's fixed now.

      Love the dancing - just beautiful, and so evocative of a white swan (ours in Australia are just as graceful, but they're slightly smaller and black. The 'cello was beautiful, too. One of my sons plays and I love the richness of sound. May God bless you.

      Much joy to you, my Friend. A bit of a romantic touch added to it, yes. A bit like Shaynani and Ramona. I believe you have read this one. Hope that all's good and life is as peaceful as it can. Hari Om!! Praise God!

      What divine imagination! A prison cell, visualization, a dancer blowing kisses--who could read this and not be inspired? Have a great day.
