The Chatter Outside My Window

Updated on March 13, 2014

Talk To Me

I hear you

You speak in a low tone

I come closer and press my ear

Each vibration is different

You talk using every sound

I listen closely

Ah to know the world like you do

To tell me of every place you have traveled

Whispers to some

White noise to other people

Volumes of information larger than any dictionary that we know

I quiet my thoughts so I may tune in

To a world so different

Nature has a way of communicating

So deep and to our core

If we would only listen

When the rain speaks

Gypsy Rose Lee wouldn't it be funny if the wind and the rain could talk. Just like animals we hear them but we don't understand them. Thank you so much for commenting.

Delightful. I love the sounds of nature like wind and rain.

MsDora I find many secrets of life hidden in nature. I learn from you. We all try to express our deepest feelings any way we can. Thank you for reading and commenting.

Dream On, I like this poem. I've always wanted to write about the feel of nature generally and the rain specifically. I don't have the vocabulary of poets like you. Thanks for a beautiful read.
