The Crapper: A Poem

Updated on November 19, 2012

The Crapper

From bowels to bowl and down the hole I swirl

I went with the flow until the world curdled in my gut

I sat on a porcelain throne and shat with the door shut

Until my abdomen was flat and flush

When I was done I spun from the commode

To the plumbing below

My journey begins as I spin

Each revolution is a revelation

I grow complacent in my safety

Until the bottom evacuates

To levels beneath what common eyes perceive

I bask in a stench refreshing to the nose

That which by another name

Would smell like a rose

The odor of truth exposed

Facilitates and invigorates

In a place where they process waste

The city treats me with chemicals unknown

In cesspools we grow thick with hope

To clog the cogs with sabotage

Until your pipes back up

Into your fancy washroom

And you recognize the sludge

For what it is

And what it always was

      Hi Innuentendre of smelly places:

Just having fun with your topic since I enjoyed the read about deep, dark place...

Alas unlike you I did not travel too far

No treatment for me, no chemicals, and so I ponder my fate

I wait, and I wait, in this whole dark place

And sit, and count time and ponder some more

When will I get out of this shitty place

Alas the sceptic makes us skeptics

And we smell less than a worthy place

Come-on are we so different now that you

Have gone to you high brow space, and me

      A much more a-septical place

Never thought this subject could be addressed in poetry. Novel and interesting.
